The fppriv patch is an extension (INIT) that "implements" (perhaps simply 
ignores) an instruction that A/UX seems not to know about on the Quadras. 
Here's how to install the patch:

        Decode the BinHex (creating "fppriv");
        Put this in your "personal" System Folder -- the one that gets 
        read when A/UX is started up (that is, not the one that gets used 
        when the Mac gets started up)

There are a variety of freely available applications (like StuffIt) that 
know how to decode this BinHex. Let me know if you run into any problems 
installing this.
